Too much of a good thing can be bad - Reddit

How does one defy their experience on reddit? Strange would be my definition.

Reddit in theory is an amazing site, giving creates the freedom that they deserve to create their posts, and really get their opinions out there, that is if the moderators approve. The freedom that the site gives you, allowing you to post videos, images, text, any format that you need to get your opinions across is truly amazing.

The website itself if simple, basic, almost giving off a vibe of paper which I actually really like. It is simple enough to use ones you play with it and get used to it, creating a post could be simplified a little bit but other than that I think the user experience is great, it makes a change from websites who have graphics everywhere and who confuse things.

Reddit is one of those sites that you turn to for entertainment rather than education, sitting there for hours just scrolling through, and reading about things that you never thought you would see yourself reading. Which is nice to do, to get away from the structure of out everyday lives.

However it is not all rainbows on reddit and there are a few issues. Over the years as other sites similar to reddit have increased in their popularity, it seems like the 'good' publishers have moved over to them, and behind have been left with slightly immature ones. The posts lack the formality that we are used to, however, this is also the fun of the site. The publishers are full of enthusiasm about their posts, really pushing their opinions, and their passion shines through.

The moderators on the other hand are bit childish, the way that they edit posts is thought to be for the better, but if you get to see the before and after, the changes that they make are really questionable. But the biggest downside to the site is the search function, let's just say it is little to be desired. But, a play with it, and time to get used to it soon fixes that issue!

Readers of reddit seem to enjoy their time on the site from what I can see, after entertainment. But do not think reddit is going to fill you up with accurate information, after searching on there as an Anthropologists, you will struggle to access key facts, and data that you are searching for. As a starting point it is okay, searching for opinions is also sometimes helpful, although, if it is key correct information you are looking for I would steer clear!

Overall however, I would thoroughly recommend reddit, weather you are after some entertainment, or just to be educated on issues you never thought you would be interested about. Check the sight out, you will not regret it.

Many thanks,
Andrew :)
